Debris Cleanup

Property owners with storm damaged trees and debris are asked to cut the debris and stack it near the edge of the property (curbside). Monroe County and the City of Bloomington are finalizing plans to remove the debris using county departments and potentially a private contractor.

The city and county crews will not remove home damage debris, construction debris or damaged home goods. Stacked vegetative debris must not impede traffic on the public roadway. Only vegetative debris is eligible for removal.

Monroe County agencies have been working with nonprofit disaster relief agencies to arrange cleanup teams to help residents who are in need of assistance with storm debris cleanup. If you would like to request assistance, please fill out an application form here: https://forms.office.com/g/fmQiv8M3Yf. This application is not a guarantee that services will be provided, as there are limited resources.

Once all debris in the yard is near the edge of the property (curbside), residents who reside within county jurisdiction can submit this application form: https://forms.office.com/g/QeHLgSWmFD. This request form will let county agencies know that your debris is ready to be picked up from the edge of your property. Please only submit this application once all debris has been placed near the edge of your property for accessibility. City residents are encouraged to refer to the guidelines that are being directed by City Departments for debris removal.
