Monroe County Drainage Board Meetings

The County Drainage Board looks to the long-term interests of the community by setting standards for drainage infrastructure and by reducing the chances of flooding problems in new developments and adjacent neighborhoods through careful design. Stormwater quality is another issue addressed by the Board so that our streams may be fishable and swimmable and to improve the quality of water used for drinking.

The Drainage Board will meet at 8:30 AM via Microsoft Teams and in person in room 106D located at the Showers Building (501 N. Morton St.), on the second Tuesday of each month.

Monroe County Traffic Commission Board Meetings

The duties of the Monroe County Traffic Commission include, but are not limited to, making recommendations for ordinances to the Board of Commissioners to:  determine the location of stop signs, slow signs and yield signs on County roads, set speed limits, designate one-way roads, regulate the operation of bicycles, and regulate traffic generally by the authority of IC 9-21-1-3.

The Traffic Commission Board will meet at 1:30 PM via Zoom at the Highway Garage (5900 W. Foster Curry Dr.), on the third Thursday of each month.
