Quit for 2

Are you pregnant and currently smoking or vaping? Quitting tobacco/nicotine is the best thing you can do for the health of you and your baby.

Quit for 2 was created to reduce the burden of tobacco use among pregnant women in Monroe County and surrounding areas. Women who quit smoking/vaping before or during pregnancy are less likely to have premature and low-birth weight babies. Due to the negative impacts of second and thirdhand smoke, it is best for moms to maintain smoking cessation after delivery.

Our program offers individualized support through one-on-one health education and counseling. Participants will attend monthly prenatal and postpartum sessions tailored to their needs. Partners that smoke or vape may enroll in the program as well. You have the power to make a difference on your whole family unit and stop the generational cycle of tobacco/nicotine dependence.

Pregnancy is such a unique time where you have the motivation to not only quit for you, but to quit for two. Why not start your quit journey today?

At the July 15th Health Board meeting, Health Department staff provided input on including Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) in Chapter 370 "Smoking in Public Places".  Following the meeting, a survey was posted to gather public comment as to the safety of ENDS.
