Small Incinerator

Small Incinerator

The Monroe County Health Department administers a program designed to monitor the thermal treatment of waste materials within our jurisdiction. The program requires all waste incinerator owners and operators to register their units with the Health Department. All units are required to meet all applicable air quality regulations set by Federal and State governments and each unit manufacturer's design recommendations.

Chapter 360-9 Registration of Small Incinerators, also gives the Health Department the ability to set more stringent standards on these units where applicable.

Please contact one of our General Environmental Health Specialists for more information: ehsgeneral@co.monroe.in.us or by phone: 812-349-2543, option 5.
